Since the beginning of mankind, civilizations have fallen: the Romans, the Greeks, the Aztecs… and now us. Huge earthquakes rock the world. Cities are destroyed. But something even more awful is happening: An ancient evil has been unleashed, and it’s turning everyday people into hunters, killers, and crazies.
This is the world Mason, Aries, Clementine, and Michael are living in—or rather, trying to survive. Each is fleeing unspeakable horror, from murderous chaos to brutal natural disasters, and each is traveling the same road in a world gone mad.
Amid the throes of the apocalypse and clinging to love and meaning wherever it can be found, these four teens are on a journey into the heart of darkness—and to find each other and a place of safety. – via GoodReads
I love reading books about apocalyptic times and end of the world. I thought Jeyn Roberts did a wonderful job writing this book. I love her writing. Roberts painted the picture of a very scary world; a world full of death and violent people, a world without power or the electronics we take for granted every day, A world where food is scarce.
Roberts draws you into the story and holds your attention to the very end. There was always a lot of action in the book. There was constantly something going on and she kept you guessing what was going to happen next until the very end. I love all the characters in this book. She developed them really well. They were scared but they were also strong and knew what they needed to do to survive.
I really enjoyed this book and could not put it down. I can’t wait to see what else Roberts writes. I would love to read some of her other books. Roberts is an awesome writer.
I thought she should have had some romantic connections in the book.
Any reader who enjoys a really good apocalyptic times and end of the world book.
