Oh we can’t wait to go and see Batman, we’re going to wait a couple of weeks to see it, the cinema’s are rammed otherwise…I did catch a glimpse of the new Superman movie that’s out next year, it looks cool! One of the girls at Book Chick City reviewed the new Spiderman movie and I think they gave it a 3 star and basically said it sucked ass 🙁 I soooo frigging hope not!

I heard all about her review and let me tell you something…it is totally off base. First off, SpiderMan is not buff. He is a lean lil nerd that projects humor to deflect from his own insecurities. Secondly, Mary Jane was not his first love and even though they Were married in the comics (past tense), Gwen Stacy defined the character of Spider Man just as much as Uncle Ben did. I have seen almost every single comic book movie that has ever been released and I will go on record as saying this is one of the best ones. EVER. It was heartfelt when necessary, humorous when needed, and more or less true to the source material. Let me put it this way…. A lot of regular fans see these comic book movies and complain because it wasnt done this way or that but if you were to see a movie about your favorite book and, come to find out, it didnt follow the source material, wouldnt you be slighty peeved? My point exactly.

Oh and Batman was grand. My lovely Alexa seems to not think so, but I cried at one part. True story.

The Fall Into Autumn challenge sounds fun…. but I need a challenge that’s ‘read ten books a month you’ve had on your shelf for over six months…’ lol. SO many I need to read!
I will be back to watch the video, I’m getting kids to bed. 🙂

I still need to go see Batman! And lots of great books this week. I’ve heard lots of good things about Beta and I love the sound of The Darkest Minds (though I don’t really get the cover either). And I’m dying to read Black City, it sounds awesome!

  4. Paige

I’ve heard good things about BETA I just signed up for an ARC tour of it and I’m wicked excited. I love the cover of Black City, I’ve been seeing that all over the place! I hope you enjoy everything my IMM’s up on the blog!

I haven’t seen Batman yet, and I don’t know if I want to. I do agree with you that Spiderman is the best super hero movie!! I like the sound of the Fall into Autumn reading Challenge.
Beta looks awesome and hope you enjoy reading it. I also loved My Life Next Door, it was a fun read.

  6. Stephanie

I promise I didn’t go overboard! I bet if you asked anyone they’d say you are a great friend and blogger friend to have!

Johnny, you killed me with the magnet bookmarks! It was so worth it just to watch that. For clarification purposes, you open the magnet and put the page you stopped reading in between the two magnets at the top of your book. Then you can find your page by looking for the magnet along the top of the book. 🙂

I’m sure it didn’t really need explained but I just wanted to be sure!
