Today I want to welcome Kari Lee Townsend! I had asked Kari to give us a little bit of background on Sunny and her gift. I am always fascinated by the psychic and paranormal.
Psychic Sunshine Meadows
Sunshine Meadows is a real psychic. She uses fortune-telling tools to help her tap into her clairvoyant abilities. By holding the hands of the person she is reading, she can usually see which tool will work best for them. Once she finds the perfect tool, it never fails. She goes into a trance-like state with tunnel vision and sees different things. Sometimes she just sees shapes and sounds, other times she becomes one of the people and sees the scene through their eyes, and still other times she is like an outsider watching a scene play out before her. There are always some aspects of her vision that are vague or confusing. It’s her job to interpret what the vision might mean. Sometimes it takes her a while to get it right, but in the end, her visions always come true.
Sunny is not adopted, though she often feels like she is. She doesn’t have anything in common with her parents, although she is a lot like her Granny Gert. So far, she is the only person in her family who has this gift that she knows of. Then again no one likes to talk about her gift because they don’t believe in it, with the exception of her grandmother. At some point, Sunny will wonder where her gifts came from and want to look into that. In the meantime, she is spending all her energy helping the citizens of Divinity with their problems and getting Detective Mitch Stone to take her seriously. Her love life has never gone well, but this time she’s done the unthinkable–fallen for a guy who thinks she’s a total quack.
Then there’s her cat, Morty, short for immortal. She doesn’t really know what he is, no one does. He sort of came with the house, and she is more “his” than he is hers. He is big and beautiful and aristocratic. She never sees him eat or sleep. He moves about at a lightning quick speed. Everyone in town thinks the house Sunny lives in is haunted, but strange things happen whenever Morty is around. Sunny suspects he is the one doing the haunting, but she’s not afraid. She feels a connection to him because he’s different … like her. She is determined to get to the bottom of his past someday as well. In the meantime, Divinity needs her and so do the police…whether Detective Grumpy Pants likes it or not
